My journey as a photographer began at a very young age. Most kids my age were playing with GI Joe or Legos, but there I was with a camera capturing pictures of nature while I was camping with my family in the Alleghany Mountains in upstate NY. I would anxiously wait for my handfuls of 35mm film to be dropped off at the one-hour photo lab at CVS by my parents, so I could see my finished product. Fast forward to the days of the digital camera – this is when my passion for photography really sprouted. A camera was always in my hand everywhere I went – parties, coffee with friends, dinner, movies, road trips, there was never non camera moment. This desire to capture all of life’s moments, is how Douglas Robert Photography was born.

I have one simple goal – to visually capture your life in still life. My style boasts a mix of modern, natural, edgy, tasteful, and engaging photography. As a professional photographer or as some like to say a “Visual Storyteller”, I have years of experience dating back to my early skills of working with film to the current digital era. My clients come from all walks of life and I connect with each of them personally; your style is my style. I have shot at prestigious venues throughout the state to, rustic hilltop events to, fashion shows to, dog shows, the list goes on. I have been welcomed into homes to celebrate the first days of a newborn’s life, to capturing a high school graduate as they begin their journey. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot with several published models and encourage anyone interested in modeling (new or experienced) to reach out as I’m always looking to collaborate. I have been nominated as one of Rochester, New York's best photographers several times, and recently had several photos on display in Stamford, CT as a part of an art exhibit!
